The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti and Foreign Affairs Minister Elizabeth Astete on Saturday remembered Jose Bernardo de Tagle y Portocarrero's contribution to the Peruvian Independence from the northern city of Trujillo in the 19th century.
His remains will be buried in the abovementioned metropolis from now on.
Jose Bernardo de Tagle y Portocarrero was a military man and politician, who became Interim President in 1823, as well as President from 1823 to 1824.
It must be noted that the hero's descendants were also present at the event.
